In the 19th century, the illicit spirit distilled on the Isle of Arran was known as the 'Arran Water' and had a stellar reputation across the country for its incredible quality. We warmly invite you to join us on a tour around Lagg Distillery as one of our tour guides regales you with the fascinating history and (mis)adventures of Arran’s distilling past, both illicit and licensed. What's included A tour of the distillery, including a dram on the balcony, a whisky and chocolate pairing and plenty of stories and tales of Arran's whisky past. Overall you will taste four whiskies on the tour. What's not included This does not include a visit to the warehouses. Please not that while this tour passes through the stillhouse it is not focused on production, but rather the stories and history of whisky making on Arran. Check-in details Please check in at the reception desk 10 minutes before the tour begins. What to bring Please wear sensible footwear. No open toe shoes are allowed on the stillhouse floor. Restrictions The chocolates on the tour are not suitable for anyone with a nut, dairy or soya allergy. We cannot provide substitute chocolates that are allergy friendly.
Officially opened it's doors in 1995 by Her Majesty the Queen. She was presented with 2 casks on that day, one for Prince William and one for Prince Harry, which are still slumbering away in Warehouse 1. The beautiful CASKS Cafe is the perfect place to enjoy a meal, delicious home- baked cakes or simply a well-earned seat and an Arran Gold coffee. Our Visitor Centre shop has all our most recent bottlings and some distillery exclusive editions.
